LONDON – 2012 SUMMER OLYMPICS

London

For the third time, London is gearing up for the modern Olympic Games. Every single detail needs to be reviewed, back up plans have to be made and logistical challenges have to be met in order to deal with millions of spectators. But practice makes perfect and since London is hosting the sporting extravaganza for the third time, you can expect professionalism. The same applies to Media Concierge – our experience made us expert in the event accommodation field.

Our success story in fact started with the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and since then, Media Concierge has been coordinating full-service corporate housing for international sporting events. We specialize in coordinating the short- and long-term accommodation needs for commercial, media, government and sporting groups. We will organize tailor-made corporate housing solutions for the duration of your stay in London. Plus, we offer local support for other details like transportation, communication and hospitalty arrangements. With Media Concierge you can focus on the Olympics instead of organizational or administrational details. Our 24/7 concierge assistance is included in our pricing: no matter what your needs may be, we’re there to help you.
The organization of high-profile sporting events such as Olympic Games always challenges the host city. Media Concierge responds to this by providing its clients on-site inspections, identifying real value without compromising quality standards.

VENUES

venues

The Summer Olympics will take place in 34 venues, distributed across Greater London with three zones (Olympic Zone, River Zone and Central Zone) as well as one zone outside of Greater London.

London's Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, will be the main sports venue for the Olympic Games and is located in the Olympic Zone. The park contains stadiums and arenas for sports like athletics, swimming, basketball, handball, cycling and hockey. The centre of the park is the Olympic Stadium, where the Opening Ceremony will take place.

The River Zone will feature venues in the Thames Gateway such as the O2 Arena for gymnastics, Greenwhich Park for equestrianism and the prestigious ExCel which will showcase martial arts.

The Central Zone will be formed out of venues which are spread across central and western London. Those include the Wembley Stadium and Arena, Lord's Cricket Ground, as well as Hyde Park and Regent's Park.

The zone outside of Greater London will feature venues such as Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy for sailing events.
